IGNOU BCA Eligibility 2026 — No Entrance Exam, No Age Limit

The eligibility criteria for IGNOU BCA are deliberately simple. IGNOU exists to remove barriers, not create them. There is no entrance exam and no age barrier — a 35-year-old working professional, a student with a gap year, a homemaker returning to education — all are equally eligible.

IGNOU BCA Admission 2026 — July Session Open, Last Date 15 July 2026

IGNOU conducts BCA admissions twice a year — January and July. The July 2026 session is currently open. If you miss it, the next window is January 2027. There is no entrance exam. Get your DEB-ID and ABC ID before starting the application — these are mandatory from 2024 onwards.

Get your DEB-ID and ABC ID first — Visit digilocker.gov.in and deb.ugc.ac.in. These are mandatory for IGNOU admission from 2024 onwards. Takes 15–20 minutes and is completely online.

Register on the official IGNOU portal — ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in (for ODL/Distance BCA) or ignouiop.samarth.edu.in (for Online BCA). Create a new account using your mobile number and email ID.

Fill the application form — Select your programme (BCA or BCAOL), choose your regional centre and study centre (for ODL), enter personal and academic details, and upload required documents.

Pay the application fee — ₹300 non-refundable registration fee + first semester fee (₹8,000 for ODL / ₹8,300 for Online). Payment via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

Submit and save the confirmation — Download and save your application confirmation. You will receive your enrolment number within 1–2 weeks. ODL students receive printed study materials by post within 4–8 weeks. Online BCA students access digital material immediately after enrolment.
